The client selected premium white kraft specialty paper to achieve a natural tactile appearance without lamination. However, specialty papers often suffer from poor ink adhesion, uneven print density, and surface abrasion during production.
Conventional rigid gift boxes occupy significant shipping volume, making international transportation costly. The challenge was to develop a collapsible rigid structure that could ship efficiently while maintaining the strength, stability, and premium appearance of a rigid gift box after assembly.
To meet the client’s plastic-free and recyclable packaging requirements, magnetic closures needed to be completely eliminated. The alternative locking system had to provide the same secure closing performance while remaining easy to manufacture and reliable during repeated use.
